I haven't posted anything for quite some time now due to Christmas shenanigans and the month of December keeping me more than busy! Not only have I not had the chance to chill out and relax in recent weeks, but I have also managed to contract the oh-so-common winter cold - not ideal. So, when the 'hallelujah' moment of a de-stress evening came at my fingertips, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to share some of the products that helped me to un-wind. I can't say I'm not still panicking (yet not acting upon) the mountain of work I need to do before the holidays come to an end, but this procrastination stage was definitely worth it. An evening of soothing scents along with a bubbly bath and a book in hand is definitely something I need to find more time for, and I'm guessing some of you do to!
Relaxation is a vital ingredient to de-stressing and consequently improves your health, yet none of us do it enough! After a hard day at work/school/college/uni it's important to take it easy and let your brain and body rest and replenish itself. A good way of doing this is by having a warm bath whilst using lovely smelling soaps before bed, letting your muscles relax and therefore releasing any tension you might have. Reading a book or even listening to chilled out music can help your body to un-wind and relieve you of any anxiety (as long as you make sure not to sit up until 2am!); however, the MOST important aspect of all is sleep. Sleep can not only improve your memory, life-span and attention-span, but it can also spur on creativity AND help control your weight - so make sure to get enough of it!
