Just Relax.

Hi All,

I haven't posted anything for quite some time now due to Christmas shenanigans and the month of December keeping me more than busy! Not only have I not had the chance to chill out and relax in recent weeks, but I have also managed to contract the oh-so-common winter cold - not ideal. So, when the 'hallelujah' moment of a de-stress evening came at my fingertips, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to share some of the products that helped me to un-wind. I can't say I'm not still panicking (yet not acting upon) the mountain of work I need to do before the holidays come to an end, but this procrastination stage was definitely worth it. An evening of soothing scents along with a bubbly bath and a book in hand is definitely something I need to find more time for, and I'm guessing some of you do to!

Relaxation is a vital ingredient to de-stressing and consequently improves your health, yet none of us do it enough! After a hard day at work/school/college/uni it's important to take it easy and let your brain and body rest and replenish itself. A good way of doing this is by having a warm bath whilst using lovely smelling soaps before bed, letting your muscles relax and therefore releasing any tension you might have. Reading a book or even listening to chilled out music can help your body to un-wind and relieve you of any anxiety (as long as you make sure not to sit up until 2am!); however, the MOST important aspect of all is sleep. Sleep can not only improve your memory, life-span and attention-span, but it can also spur on creativity AND help control your weight - so make sure to get enough of it!
The White Collection Body Cream & Body Wash (comes in a lovely, white, faux leather wash bag!)
Paddywax Apothecary Candle  (smells absolutely divine!)
 Urban Outfitters
Rose Hand Wash (has a beautiful, refreshing scent!)
Cath Kidston
Rose Scented Soap (not only looks lovely, but smells gorgeous too!)
 Fortnum and Mason
Scented Room Cologne (keeps your room smelling beautifully fresh!)
 Kenneth Turner
How to be Parisian (cannot rate this book enough!)

November Favourites | Zara & Topshop

Another month has come and gone and Christmas is soon approaching *jumps up and down!!!*, so I'm planning on being unusually well behaved and saving my money for Christmas gifts. However, this didn't stop me from leaving a hole in my pocket this November after a little internet shopping!

I thought I'd share a few of my favourite buys this month, mainly consisting of simplistic pieces in either black, white or grey (unsurprisingly!). This monochrome colour-palette has a clean cut look that is essentially timeless. Adding different textures and layering outfits adds detail and depth to a fairly colourless attire, leaving you with a carefree and uncomplicated look.

All of the items listed are from Zara - my all-time favourite - or Topshop, and have the cold weather in mind!

Oversize Buys

One of my favourite trends right now has unquestionably got to be the oversized and anti-fit look. With a manly, tom-boy essence, a chunky knit jumper or streamlined boyfriend coat can add the perfect 'not even trying' to your outfit. Keeping things simplistic and effortless is something the Olsen twins (featured above) are predominantly known for, making them one of my ultimate style icons. Pairing unfitted staple-pieces alongside fitted accents contrasts perfectly, adding a sense of feminism to a male-dominated outfit. A mixture of smart and casual conveys fashion confidence without trying too hard, giving a flawless contemporary look - ideal for AW14.

Well, here it is - my first blog.

Although it's undoubtedly been a long time coming, I've finally plucked up the courage to express my creativity within my own little space. Whether it be on the topic of fashion and style, music, travel or culture, why not share it? I can't deny the fact that I've been putting this off for quite some time, but I'm now ready to give it my best shot! If I'm able to inspire one person with any of my future posts, I'll be satisfied.
